The 2025 Annual Retreat

Over the years, Sourcing and Produce Ltd has firmly established itself as a leading force in African agribusiness, driving innovation, fostering growth, and empowering local economies. One of its hallmark initiatives in reinforcing these values is the annual company retreat, which serves as a platform for reflection, learning, and team building.
In March 20-2025, Sourcing and Produce hosted its much-anticipated three days’ work retreat at Eros Hotel, Lekki, Lagos. This retreat was a pivotal moment for the organization, bringing together 44 team members from Lagos, Kano, and Tanzania under the theme “Good to GREAT.”
Day One: Arrival and Team Bonding
The retreat commenced with the arrival of participants, who received a warm welcome before being ushered to their respective rooms. Following a brief settling in period, the team embarked on a beach outing at Barracuda Beach, where the atmosphere was set for relaxation and affinity. Wearing branded T-shirts, the team engaged in interactive bonding activities led by professional facilitators. This session emphasized the importance of collaboration and collective effort in achieving corporate goals.
Day Two: Strategic Insights and Business Performance
The second day began with a morning exercise session at 6:00 AM, followed by breakfast. The retreat officially commenced at 10:30 AM with the recitation of the company anthem, after which the CEO, Mr. Lanre Awojoodu, delivered an insightful address. He provided an in-depth analysis of the previous year’s performance, evaluating strengths and weaknesses in relation to the ambitious ₦15 billion target.
The newly appointed COO, Mrs. Omolola Fadipe, led a SWOT and market analysis session, allowing team members to identify internal and external factors influencing the company’s growth. Key challenges discussed included global supply chain disruptions, price escalation, and increased competition. However, opportunities such as expansion into new markets, adoption of advanced agricultural technology, and strategic partnerships were also highlighted.
Each department presented its performance report, highlighting achievements, challenges, and future strategies. Notably, the Sales Department recorded an impressive ₦5 billion in total revenue, attributing the success to innovative marketing strategies and strong team collaboration. The Finance, Purchasing, Sopure and Project Management departments also shared key insights into their operations, contributing to a holistic understanding of the company’s progress. The finance team presented detailed financial projections, outlining investment strategies and cost-saving measures for the upcoming fiscal year.
Day Three: Leadership Development and Closing Ceremony
The final day was dedicated to leadership and strategic planning. Dr. Muyiwa Oludayo of Nathan Leadgate facilitated a session on leadership effectiveness, guiding participants through self-awareness exercises, including personality assessments conducted by psychologist Oreoluwa his co-faciltator. These exercises enabled team members to gain deeper insights into their working styles and how best to collaborate.
A significant highlight of the retreat was the CEO’s motivational session, “Good to GREAT,” which reinforced the company’s vision and commitment to excellence. He emphasized the need for continuous learning, adaptability, and innovation to maintain Sourcing and Produce’s position as an industry leader. Three team leads Mr. Osas, Mr. Tunde, and Mr. Ahmed were officially appointed as shareholders, reflecting the company’s dedication to employee empowerment and shared success.
The company recognized and honored several employees with awards, including Best Sales Executive, Most Dedicated Team Member, Outstanding Leadership Award, and other notable recognitions. These recognitions served as motivation for staff members to continue striving for excellence. Employees also participated in an interactive goal setting session, where they outlined personal and team objectives for the next quarter.
The retreat concluded with a grand cocktail dinner featuring awards presentations, gift exchanges, and live performances. The CEO delivered a heartfelt closing speech, emphasizing the company’s unwavering commitment to innovation, excellence, and employee growth. He thanked every team member for their contributions and reiterated that the company’s vision extends beyond profitability it is about creating lasting impact within the African agricultural sector.
